Great Team Effort at Calderdale Way Relay

Knavesmire Harriers returned on 17 May for a second attempt at the Calderdale Way Relay Race. A massive event , comprising six legs run in pairs over the steep  hills and along the canals and valleys  of the Halifax area. The hotly contested race is now in it's 31st year and regularly attracts nearly 100 teams of 12 from across the North . Intro to Fell Running Big Success…

On Saturday 14th March the first Knavesmire "Intro to Fell Running" session was held with over 20 members heading out to Carlton Bank on the North Yorkshire Moors. After a brief overview of fell running including race categories, required kit and footwear we set out towards Clay Bank. We split into three ability groups covering between 4 to 8 miles and ranging from 1 to 5 climbs. Last Call for Calderdale…

Last Call for Calderdale…. 2015 sees the 31st running of the Calderdale Way Relay on Sunday 17th May. This is Britain’s biggest club-run off-road event with around 90 teams and over 1,000 runners taking part in the 2014 edition. We’re looking for runners to join the Knavesmire teams hoping to take part in this year’s event. 20 runners have signed up already, so we need 4 more runners (plus a few reserves) to give us enough for a second team. Introduction to Fell Running

Date: Saturday 14th March at 10am Location: Lord Stones Café, Carlton Bank, TS9 7JH Kit: There is no required kit but bring the shoes with the biggest tread you have. Clothing is weather dependent but it would be wise to bring a waterproof. Knavesmire Harriers are running an “Introduction to Fell Running” session which is open to all club members.
