Victorious Vets at Crossgates.

Victorious Vets

Glad to report that with the Summer League racing completed for another year the number of YKH runners attending this race increased to 8 with 3 club members securing age category prizes – some percentage!

A perfect English summer evening with the sun shining but with a pleasant cooling breeze provided almost perfect running conditions for the 238 runners who completed the race. For anyone who has experienced vets racing I promise it was dry underfoot from start to finish! Mud – what’s that?

Impressive running by Neill Stabbs saw him lead our 7 man and 1 lady squad home in a time of 30.45 mins taking nearly 2 minutes off his last time for this event. In doing so Neill finished 4th man overall and first M35 home. Once again a ‘gold medal’ performance by Ian Bithell one of our stalwart vets who ran superbly to secure 1st M70. Great running guys.

Our only lady running Maureen Medlar was more than pleased to secure a second place in her age category after sometime out with injury but reported that she was not so pleased that she is now running as F60!
